- Hi, I just bought a 2nd hand A4000/030 with a GVP SCSI A4008 card.
-
- I've successfully got it working with my SCSI CD-ROM, and a
- 1 Gig Compaq Hard Drive.
-
- I also bought a Cyberstorm 060. When I install this, everything
- works fine, except the GVP SCSI card.
-
- With just the CD-ROM attached, I can read the CD, but I loose
- controll of the keyboard (the caps light flashes, but the
- amiga doesn't recognise any key presses)
-
- With just the Hard Drive attached, I can boot, and read the
- drive, however _ANY_ attempt to write anything to the drive
- results in complete loss of the RDB info. I cannot re-write
- the RDB info using FaastPrep. All info written to the drive
- is either lost completely, or hopelessly corrupted.
-
- With both the CD-ROM and Hard Drive attached, it doesn't
- appear to boot. (It takes ages to boot with the CD-ROM
- attached).
-
- FaastPrep / HD Toolbox both work fine with the 030 board,
- but both report that l:FastFileSystem cannot be found
- when used with the Cyberstorm.
-
- My IDE drive works fine with the Cyberstorm.
-
- I have V4.13 of gvpscsi.device. In case it makes any difference,
- I also have a Cybervision card (but I get similar results
- with this card removed). I have no fast RAM on the motherboard,
- but have 2 x 16MB SIMMS on the Cyberstorm card. I also have
- a 512Mb Maxtor IDE drive.
-
- Can anyone suggest any way to fix this, or are these two
- boards completely incompatible?? - If so, can anyone suggest
- a SCSI card that will work OK with the Cyberstorm?
-
-
- On a different note, neither the CD-ROM nor the Hard Drive
- have terminating resistors, or sockets for them. Is there
- some other way to add a terminator to an internal cable?
- (Besides hacking an external terminator).
-
-
- Any help would be greatly appreciated, and this is driving
- me nuts !!
