  15. Hi, I just bought a 2nd hand A4000/030 with a GVP SCSI A4008 card.

  17. I've successfully got it working with my SCSI CD-ROM, and a 
  18. 1 Gig Compaq Hard Drive.

  20. I also bought a Cyberstorm 060. When I install this, everything
  21. works fine, except the GVP SCSI card.

  23. With just the CD-ROM attached, I can read the CD, but I loose
  24. controll of the keyboard (the caps light flashes, but the
  25. amiga doesn't recognise any key presses)

  27. With just the Hard Drive attached, I can boot, and read the 
  28. drive, however _ANY_ attempt to write anything to the drive
  29. results in complete loss of the RDB info. I cannot re-write 
  30. the RDB info using FaastPrep. All info written to the drive
  31. is either lost completely, or hopelessly corrupted.

  33. With both the CD-ROM and Hard Drive attached, it doesn't
  34. appear to boot. (It takes ages to boot with the CD-ROM 
  35. attached).

  37. FaastPrep / HD Toolbox both work fine with the 030 board, 
  38. but both report that l:FastFileSystem cannot be found 
  39. when used with the Cyberstorm.

  41. My IDE drive works fine with the Cyberstorm.

  43. I have V4.13 of gvpscsi.device. In case it makes any difference, 
  44. I also have a Cybervision card (but I get similar results
  45. with this card removed). I have no fast RAM on the motherboard,
  46. but have 2 x 16MB SIMMS on the Cyberstorm card. I also have
  47. a 512Mb Maxtor IDE drive.

  49. Can anyone suggest any way to fix this, or are these two
  50. boards completely incompatible??  - If so, can anyone suggest
  51. a SCSI card that will work OK with the Cyberstorm?

  54. On a different note, neither the CD-ROM nor the Hard Drive
  55. have terminating resistors, or sockets for them. Is there
  56. some other way to add a terminator to an internal cable?
  57. (Besides hacking an external terminator).

  61. me nuts !!
